When a major disaster strikes, the Town of York through the Governor may request the President approve a formal declaration of disaster. A Presidential Disaster Declaration opens up the possibility for the town to receive reimbursement of approved disaster response and recovery expenses through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance Grant Program.
