You will be hard pressed to find anyone as immersed in and passionate about York's incredible history as James Kencas! Here we have an historian of remarkable capability. Not only can he tell you what was happening here in 1656, but he can relate it to events in the world beyond York's boarders, moving from "what" to "why".
If you have a chance, attend one of his talks at the Library, and read the columns he writes for The York Weekly. James is a master at his craft and York benefits greatly from his efforts.
