Many of the town managers and other professional staff in this area are participants in the Kittery and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Joint Land Use Study. Just this week we had a meeting to kick off this effort, funded in large part by a Department of Defense grant. Our goal is to develop a sustainable solutions to shipyard-related traffic and land use issues throughout our region. It is a wonderful opportunity for us all to work together to help the Shipyard achieve its mission while enhancing the quality of life in all our communities.

Here I am with Kendra Amaral, Kittery Town Manager. I give credit to Kendra and to Kittery officials and staff for taking a leadership role in this visionary process. And besides being a great leader, Kendra was also kind enough to agree to this week’s selfie and I appreciate this very much.
