Dog Licenses

Dog licenses are issued by the calendar year expiring December 31st. The renewal licenses become available just prior the the New Year in mid October. Once a dog has an established license with the Town, his/her license must be renewed annually. 

Provide a Maine Rabies Certificate from your veterinarian and show proof of spay / neutering.

Spayed / Neutered: $6 per year
Not Spayed / Neutered: $11 per year
Late Fees: $25 per dog (Dogs not licensed by January 31st of each year.)

Maine's Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program (Help Fix Me)
The Help Fix ME program (HFM) distributes applications to qualified individuals who can’t afford to spay their dogs or cats. You may be able to participate in the HFM program if you receive or are eligible for one of the following programs:
Food Stamps
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Social Security Disability (SSDI)
