Community Development

The Community Development Department was created in July 2007 to provide code enforcement, planning, geographic information systems (GIS), and community development services.  We deal with most land use, building construction, development and conservation issues facing our community.

Our web page provides direct access to our plans, codes, documents, maps, and forms.  This page is a work in progress, so check in from time to time as we change and update the page and its contents frequently.

One of the reasons people check our page is to get copies of ordinance and Comp Plan amendments in advance of a public hearing or referendum.  Check the link to the left called, "Posted Documents."  And if you're looking for anything relating to a particular board or committee, such as their list of members or their agenda, see if they have their own web page - use the "Committees" pull-down menu in the header at the top of this page.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact any one of us.  We're here to help.

This is time to speak with a Code Enforcement Officer.  It is appropriate to ask general questions, review files, and submit permits applications for minor projects such as additions, repairs, plumbing permits, shed, etc. This is also the time to submit Growth Permit Applications.  This is not the time to submit applications for large projects, such as new homes, new non-residential buildings, and major commercial alterations.  For large project applications, please call our office (363-1002) to schedule an office appointment.
