York Beach Project Site Walk March 27, 2010

The Planning Board will hold a site walk on Saturday, March 27, 2010. The Site Walk will begin at 9AM, starting from the parking lot across from the York Beach Fire Station. The walk will occur on the parcels at 23 Railroad Avenue and 414 Ridge Road. This is a rescheduling of a sitewalk originally slated for February 27th.

Notice of Road Posting
The Town of York, pursuant to Title 29 Section 902 of the Maine Revised Statutes Annotated, will be restricting any vehicle or combination of vehicles exceeding 24,000 pounds gross vehicle weight from using any Town-maintained highway.  This rule does not apply when the roadway is solidly frozen or to any vehicle engaged in highway maintenance under the direction of the Town of York.

This closing is effective beginning on or about February 23rd, 2010, depending on conditions and until further notice.

Persons desiring information on the status of a given road or those preparing to haul any loads into York via truck must call (207) 363-1011 Monday-Thursday between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM and at least one day in advance of any trucking.  At that time, the Public Works Superintendent or his agent will advise if the road may be used.

Code Counter Closed for Training
The Code Enforcement counter will be closed due to training on Monday, March 29th and Tuesday, March 30th.  We are open for Walk-ins on Wednesday, March 31st, Thursday, April 1st and Friday, April 2nd from 8:00am to 11:40am.  Normal schedule will resume the week of Monday, April 5th.  
FEMA Preliminary Flood Maps
On June 9, 2009 the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided the Town of York Preliminary copies (paper) of a Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report and proposed Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM).   read more...
